Next weekend will be a celebration time for many Icelanders.
The reason? Sheep roundup starts in many places all around the island.
During the month of September, farmers will roundup the
sheep from the hills and mountains and see how well they have been feeding this
summer. Several of the roundups are large events. People come together and
sing, enjoy local food and drinks, but only after they have rounded the sheep
together.
This is something that everybody can take part in. Children, adults
and of course the Icelandic sheep dog.
