Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon is among Iceland’s biggest tourist attractions. This
coming Saturday, August 28th, the annual fireworks show will take
place at the lagoon for the 11th year in a row.
The local scene with Vatnajökull glacier in the background
and floating icebergs all around lit up by the fireworks is almost surreal.
This is something most people would only dream about but here is a chance to
make it come true.
Last year a new record was broken when over 1.100 people
attended and the exhibitors are very optimistic about breaking the record again
this weekend.
The income from this event will be used to support the local
search and rescue team. Tickets are sold on location for 1.000 ISK.
