Top 10 in Reykjavík

We really love to put in everything in winning places, Top 3, Top 10 or even Top 100 something. We are probably the only country which celebrated like mad when we ended in place 16 in the Eurovision contest some years ago. Why? It must be good to be the 16th best singing country in Europe? But anyway, here are our top ten family fun things to do in Reykjavík capital area.
1. Splash and play—or just soak—at one of 20 thermal pools in the Reykjavík capital area
2. Feed the friendly ducks at Tjörnin lake
3. Experience Viking times at one of the capital area’s many museums
4. Visit the animals at the Reykjavík Family Park & Zoo
5. Try delicious Icelandic food: hot dogs, soft-serve ice cream, skyr, and licorice
6. Climb to the very top of majestic Mount Esja and be rewarded with a spectacular view of the city
7. Go horseback riding through picturesque valleys and rocky lava fields on the unique Icelandic horse
8. See whales and puffins on a boat trip from Reykjavík’s old harbor
9. Watch bubbling hot springs and roaring waterfalls on a day tour from Reykjavík
10. Revel in a Reykjavík winter: be dazzled by the multi-colored Christmas lights, skate on Tjörnin lake, start a snowball fight and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of the unforgettable Northern Lights
