Sveinstindur – Skælingar is an hiking trail not so far from Strútsstígur. The trail starts by climbing the Sveinstindur Mountain where the view over Vatnajökull glacier and the area behind the mountains is fantastic. The trail then goes on through the Skaftárhraun lava to Skælingar mountain hut and the next day by the Eldgjá canyon. A fantastic hiking trail and surely among the best in Iceland.
The Askja hiking trail takes us to the north of Iceland where we hike across Ódáðahraun lava fields. We start in Herðubreiðarlindirnature reserve towards Askja crater and from there in the direction of Mývatn. Fantastic nature mixed with black deserts makes this hiking trail so different from others you have hiked.
